Cosmogony :: essays research papers fc

Cosmogony Works Cited Brandon, S.G.F. Word reference of Comparative Religion. New York: Charles Scribner’s      Sons, 1970. â€Å"Cosmogony.† World Book Encyclopedia. 1990 ed.      Different religions see how the world was made, or cosmogony, in various ways. China holds numerous cosmogonies, yet they all rotate around similar thoughts. Egypt’s cosmogony was propelled by the longing that their God made every single other god. The perspectives on individuals characterize the cosmogony in Greece, for the most part of Homer. Cosmogony in the Hebrew religion is characterized in the initial two parts of Genesis(Brandon 208). Japanese cosmogonic folklore has its beginnings of legends that one can follow route back. A few perspectives on the various religions continue as before, however most perspectives contrast from each other.â â â â â      Chinese philosophical intrigue was focused on human issues. Egypt was spurred to show that divine fiat considers enormous creation (Brandon 208). The Greek way of thinking worried about thinking about inception and constitution of the universe. Some cosmological thoughts in the Hebrew religion speak to the production of the universe by divine fiat (Brandon 208). Divine fiat is characterized when God said ‘Let there be light’; and there was light (qtd. in â€Å"Cosmogony†). Pentateuch and Yahwist manage the creation and the fall of Adam. Shinto created another cosmogony that presents a division known to man. The upper world comprised of divine beings and everlasting ecstasy. The center world remembered man for the outside of the earth. The lower universe of murkiness, known as Yomi, which has detestable spirits that live under guideline of earth-mother (Brandon 210).      According to the Huai-Nantzu, in China, the universe of existence emerged before Heaven and Earth came to fruition. The most punctual Egyptian cosmogony introduced Atum as the maker and Heliopolis as the spot. The Greeks trusted Hesiod likewise clarifies advancement of humanity as a progression of Five Ages. Yahwist, in the Hebrew religion accounts on the production of the world by an editorial manager who combined Pentateuch and Yahwist into constant works of celestial creation. The Japanese accepted the universe of structures to be framed from transmissions continuing from the Dhyani-Buddha (â€Å"Cosmogony†).  â â â â      The Han Dynasty established the primary completely created cosmogonies for China. This naturalistic cosmogony instructed that the cause of the everything lay in the Great Ultimate. The Great Ultimate delivered two powers of Yin and Yang. Yin and Yang consolidated to frame four symbols, which at that point created the Eight Trigrams. The Eight Tigrams brought about all the marvels of the world (Brandon 207).

Wi-Max an Example by

Wi-Max With the quick pace of living and the network required by individuals today, innovation is attempting to stay aware of the requests with fantastic speed and innovativeness. Individuals need data now, and they should get it now. Understanding this need of the individuals for data and to be accessible even while in a hurry, innovators are attempting to be bolder than at any other time. From what used to be wired neighborhood and more wires to get wide zone organize, the innovation driven society is currently severing the limits and getting the snare, truly. Need article test on Wi-Max point? We will compose a custom article test explicitly for you Continue While there is remote constancy or WiFi which overwhelmed versatile warriors, the utilization of such innovation don't ensure reliability and lucidity. Impedances exist in this convention, and a few drawbacks of the innovation signify its hindrance. This incited pioneers to make a superior remote innovation stage. The vision materialized with Wi-Max. Wi-Max is the most recent pattern in availability today that addressed the mechanical should be liberated from impedances and current limits. It represents World Interoperability for Microwave Access. Wi-Maxs innovation works practically like Wi-Fi or the remote constancy convention. In any case, Wi-Max flaunts that there is less impedance, increasingly effective transmission capacity use, and permits higher information rates much over longer separations. Truth be told, it can give up to 30 miles and three to 10 miles of broadband remote access for fixed stations and portable stations individually. (Wolleben, 2005) Fixed-station Wi-Max gives availability to homes and organizations through gathering channels, for example, a PC. Then again, the Wi-Max of portable stations accommodate phones and comparable contraptions. (WiMax Broadband Wireless Technology Access, 2007) WiMaxs remote availability convention depends on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access, otherwise called OFDMA. It is an advanced convention for PC based gadgets. Pioneers guarantee this extensively conveys preferable outcomes over the present advances by and by being utilized. The as of late created 4G innovation being used in PDAs today, actually, is supposed to will undoubtedly abuse this OFDMA innovation. This further endorses the way that Wi-Max is the eventual fate of mechanical availability. (WiMax Broadband Wireless Technology Access, 2007) Wi-Max expect the emergence of unavoidable network. By this it is implied that all the requirement for network is replied by Wi-Max and that every previous escape clause of comparable advances, similar to WiFi, have been fixed. This makes this new convention extensive and more effective than its previous partners. More focal points are related with Wi-Max. For financial specialists, the way that Wi-Max works in open norm and increasingly adaptable terms make it simpler to combine the innovation into any business. Wi-Max is likewise being mass delivered, hauling its cost down. (WiMax Broadband Wireless Technology Access) It is likewise essential to consider the security ramifications of this new innovation. Like different remote advances, the most extreme concern would be the chance of private data being gotten through transmission lines. While advocates and endorsers of Wi-Max innovation guarantee that there is less impedance with this new jump, the truth of the matter is that there is despite everything space for obstruction to happen. This gap, anyway little it tends to be, may offer approach to interruption and in this way represents a hazard for arranged data. The progressed innovative particulars of Wi-Max, however, stay in front of the unstable safety efforts of prior innovation. Being a fourth era convention, it stands further developed than its progenitors. In spite of the open standard that it steps on, the utilization of Wi-Max requires checking and intercession. Regardless of whether it works like WiFi, and in this manner bolsters WiFi-like information, Wi-Max accept greater security highlights. For one, Wi-Max works on both authorized and non-authorized signs. This unites the lawful frequencies and the unregistered ones. While this may represent a security issue, the case is in actuality the opposite. In light of the managed idea of Wi-Max, corrupt exercises that barge in and deny security for clients is effortlessly wiped out. (Wolleben, 2005) Something else that makes Wi-Max secure is simply the primary element: decline in obstruction. When there is less or no obstruction, the signs and recurrence stream as one and any outside recurrence that attempts to attack the consonant stream can without much of a stretch be identified. Consequently, interruption can without much of a stretch be found and disengaged. Be that as it may, Wi-Maxs is as yet not the ideal remote innovation. Since innovation is reliably developing, comparable conventions that intend to meddle and break safety efforts even of the most development systems will perpetually exist. Therefore, it is an obligation regarding clients of any remote system convention to give themselves optional safety efforts for their utilization. It is likewise essential to take note of that nobody innovation is customized for all organizations. Most conventions are made for use on essential footing, utilization, and conditions. It is basic for organizations which require further developed determinations to tweak their conventions as indicated by the idea of their needs. In any case, Wi-Max is a boondocks in the new time of remote network innovation. With the way that it is minimal effort, mass-created, generally accessible, and exceptionally proficient, particularly as contrasted and before advancements, it is worth for organizations to attempt. It is likewise worth for individuals to think about utilizing it for individual use. With accessibility for fixed station and portable station use, it is no uncertainty that in a matter of moments Wi-Max will reign in its industry. Breaking the hindrances set by impedance touchy before innovation, this most current inescapable innovation is set to vanquish the scene. References Wolleben, M. 2005. What is WiMax? The Human Brain Is The Product Of Adaptation And Not...

Evolutionary theorists argue the human brain is the product of adaptation and not unique amongst other species. Suzana Herculano-Houzel argues the human brain is merely an evolved form of a prior ape brain. Through comparative research, Dr. Herculano-Houzel has revalued the number of neurons within the human brain, as well as, many other common animals. Her research has led her to draw conclusions pertaining to human evolutionary development. She suggests the human brain is not a special or unique structure, but rather the evolutionary result of cooking. Ten years ago, brain researchers thought they understood the complex components of the human brain. They concluded that all mammalian brains were similarly made, and that the number of neurons within a given brain corresponded directly to brain size. These previously held ideas upset Suzana Herculano-Houzel because they were based upon little scientific evidence. She found both cow and primate brains to be relatively the same size, yet primates displayed a higher cognitive ability. Likewise, if brain size was an indication of cognitive ability, certain animals with larger brains should possess higher cognitive abilities than humans. However, previous neuroscientists dismissed these contradictions by referring to the human brain as â€Å"special.† Examples like these convinced Suzana Herculano-Houzel that all mammalian brains were not similarly made. She inquired to understand why the human brain was â€Å"special† and not bound byShow MoreRelatedHuman Race : The Myth An d The Truth1742 Words   |  7 PagesLilian Ogbuefi Clancy Smith Humanities 24 April 2015 Human races; the myth and the truth Introduction The human race as a result of its dynamism, roots, ability to adapt, acute intelligence, amongst other characteristics possessed, is undoubtedly the most unique of all earthly existence. Gay Marriages Essay Research Paper The constitution free essay sample

Gay Marriages Essay, Research Paper The fundamental law states that all work forces are created equal. If this is true, so why is at that place so much contention affecting a individual # 8217 ; s sexual penchant? Martin Luther King said it best when he stated that everyone has a dream. Why so rain on person # 8217 ; s dream when all they want to make is love each other? Homosexuals are contending for what they deserve: the freedom that every citizen has the right to love whoever they want to. Let us discourse what cheery relationships are truly all about. The stereotype has it that homosexualism is merely approximately # 8220 ; dirty # 8221 ; sex. On the other manus, homosexualism is simply a penchant and much more about love and fondness. All relationships, including cheery 1s, are based on common attractive force, love and fondness. Peoples in love get married everyday so what injury is done to society if a jurisprudence is passed legalising same sex matrimonies? I say allow them take their lives how they see fit. We will write a custom essay sample on Gay Marriages Essay Research Paper The constitution or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page People # 8217 ; s stereotypes and society # 8217 ; s hypocritical positions on people all affect the homosexual community in making their ends. Peoples are unreal when the subject of homosexualism is concerned. Normal society will state they are in favour of equal rights for homophiles, but when speaking about same sex matrimony, the society does non hold with that. Statisticss show that about three in four people are against cheery matrimonies. The ground for that is that normal persons do non cognize what the significance of homosexualism is. The different definitions of what matrimony should be struggle between homophiles and straight persons. Peoples oppose cheery matrimonies because it is based on the premise that homosexuals have a pick in who they can experience attracted to, but world is different. Many people believe that homosexuals could take to be heterosexual if they truly wanted to. But in kernel, most homophiles do non hold a pick. Gay twosomes are capable of loving kids as consecutive twosomes. Although, society does non accept the thought of homosexual twosomes raising kids. I do non understand why that would be a job. The ground being that scientific surveies have shown kids raised with normal parents and homosexual parents are the same. Psychologists tell us that what makes the difference is the love given from the parents, non the gender. It is fact that many homosexuals twosomes raise adopted kids and with every bit much love and attention as a heterosexual twosome would raise their kids. Additionally, many people believe that homosexualism in general is merely about sex but it is more than that. Homosexual matrimonies should non hold any consequence on homophiles today. Homosexuals do non trouble oneself anyone and maintain to themselves. Logically, no injury is done in our society because they lead their ain private lives. Gay communities are built to assist each other and to back up the rights of homophiles when they are being threatened. They want to hold the same rights as straight persons have so they can populate their lives peacefully and fruitfully in society. As I can see today, homophiles are harmless people, extremely educated and progressive in the humanistic disciplines and concern. Since they can gain a life for themselves, and demo love to one another, authorities should esteem their picks and human rights. The homosexual community is unafraid. They are unafraid because they have fought so many conflicts in clang between homophobic people and themselves. Peoples are non really open minded when it comes to the homosexual community. They fear that homophiles will pervert them in some manner or are unsafe to their kids. These thoughts are all portion of society # 8217 ; s deceptive positions. Not merely are homophiles looked down upon because of their sexual penchant, but besides the favoritism is worse when minorities are involved. By and large, people should be treated every bit no affair what. The manner you live your personal life is your pick, non the pick of the authorities or society. In the fundamental law, it states that every homo being has the right to privateness. So, why can homosexuals non pattern their ain right for privateness? Why can they non acquire married? Any Jack and Jill on the street can acquire # 8220 ; hitched. # 8221 ; I think it is clip for Jack and Jack to hold a nice ceremonial excessively.

It Was Just The Second Week Of School, And I Had Mustered Up All My Co

It was just the second week of school, and I had mustered up all my courage to venture to the nether regions of our school known as the basement to attend the first meeting of the newly forming FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics team. When I walked into room one, the newly proclaimed FIRST headquarters, I looked around with apprehension, and I noticed that I did not recognize a single face in the room. Nervously, I took a seat, and Mr. Mothersele, the advisor for the program began describing the program. FIRST is a national engineering competition in which partnerships are formed between local businesses and high schools to design and build a robot-like machine from identical kits of parts supplied by FIRST. The team has about six weeks to build the machine which must be able to compete in a timed sporting event. As soon as I saw the video of the students working and competing with the robots, I was hooked. The program seemed tailored to my int erest in math in science and to my competitive spirit. I couldn't resist the opportunity. As a shy and relatively inexperienced freshman, I signed up for the program as the only underclassmen on the team of ten students. I bumbled along, learning about design and how to use the machines. I made my full share of mistakes and then some, but by the end of the program, I was gaining some real experience. Although our robot did not fare very well in the competition our first year, my learning process was underway, and I knew that I had found my place. The second year of the competition, I was only one of two returning students. I took an active role in recruiting new students, and our membership doubled. It was a complete role reversal for me because all of a sudden I was the experienced team member. We finished fifth out of forty teams at the regional competition, and at the national tournament, we placed in the top third. This past year, was the golden year of my FIRST career. In September, I was voted team captain. It was my job to ensure that our team was well organized and that we stayed on task. Our team advanced to the semifinals, where we lost to the eventual National Champion. We finished fourth overall, and it was an incredible success story. Over the summer, I continued to work at school with our instructor to plan for the upcoming year. Next year, I will be team captain again, and we are prepared to continue our success. I have come a long way from the timid freshman who nervously stepped into the FIRST room. As a result of my FIRST experience, I feel comfortable presenting my ideas clearly and convincingly to a large diverse audience. I have grown confidence in my own resourcefulness and problem solving ability. FIRST has taught me to trust my judgment in critical situations. Working with a diverse group of people having a variety of skills strengthened my team working abilities. To be successful, our team had to consider everyone's ideas to produce a winning strategy. During the first two years, I gained the experience and skills necessary to assume the leadership position of team captain. As team captain, I set group goals and formulated strategies to achieve these goals. As a result of this experience I can work effectively on significant long range projects with highly focused goals. I can both work constructively as a team member and provide leadership among my peers. I developed my ability to communicate and coordinate my ideas in the corporate environment. The skills that I have gained are those needed to work in an entrepreneurial business environment which I have selected as my career objective.

attribute associated with the Business Entrepreneur and researched in the context of one noteworthy entrepreneur The WritePass Journal

A written project on the theme of one selected characteristic/attribute associated with the Business Entrepreneur and researched in the context of one noteworthy entrepreneur Abstract A written project on the theme of one selected characteristic/attribute associated with the Business Entrepreneur and researched in the context of one noteworthy entrepreneur ). This study will investigate the main factors that innovation should possess, and the reasons behind its success among the consumers. The main critical analysis is going to be presented in the literature review. This will lay the foundation for further investigation. Practical evidence will demonstrate the case study in relation to the researched theories. Finally, the findings from the literature review and practical evidence are going to be juxtaposed in the analysis section. Literature Review Recent research suggests that innovation is an outcome of creativity. This implies that innovation may occur, when a person realizes stimulating and new ideas, which he or she, has (Austin, Devin and Sullivan, 2012). Some companies tend to shape the work environment in order to produce the conditions that work well in terms ofthe development of the creative ideas. This is primarily associated with the integration of the particular   practices, which allow the person to relax, and, therefore, generate ideas. Hopkins, (2010) suggests that innovation is a discipline. This implies that   management of innovation may be compared with   management of   quality, where each detail is essential. This also implies that, after generation of the idea, it is important to focus on the efficient development of production, supply chain, distribution and marketing. The process of innovation development is also interlinked to the production of   business model.   It is especially intensifi ed in the context of   entrepreneurship. Drucker, (2002), suggests that innovation is sourced from the knowledge and hard work. This suggests that in order for   innovation to be successful, it is necessaryto monitor the market, to interact and seek out   opportunities to seize. As a result,, there is a small chance for accidental innovation that might emerge (Austin, Devin and Sullivan, 2012). However, given the conditions of contemporary market and situation, this chance is slim. This is correlated to the evolutionary theory, which suggests that the process of innovation production is interlinked with the dynamism of the environment and acquired knowledge and skills. Furthermore, it was added that the success of innovation is sourced from the learning abilities and behavioural traits of the entrepreneur. This implies that the values, cognition and the aims of the individual directly impact the process of innovation development (Metcalfe, 1998; Dosi, 1997). According to complexity theory, Anderson, (1999) states that the creative ideas are sourced from the environmental changes. This suggests that   individuals and companies tend to take into   account the environmental dynamism, thus shifting their perceptions, according to the global and/or domestic changes. This is further interlinked with the evaluation of the information, which is sourced from these dynamical changes. This, in turn, results in the development of the innovations. This theory is based on the estimation that the innovation should evolve, as part of the constant environmental dynamics. Contrary to this, Brown and Eisenhardt, (1998) suggest that innovation is driven by experimentation rather than evolution. This implies that the individual should always experiment, in order to create some innovative solutions. This is attributed to the â€Å"trial and error† pathway. This pathway is regarded to be quite effective as demonstrated in the recent research. It is primarily interlinked with the hard work and discipline, which is noted in the study by Hopkins, (2010). Damanpour, (1992) disagrees and states that there is no definite practice that would allow efficient production and management of the innovative products and/or services. This suggests that there are four main factors that affect the possible success of the innovation. These factors are attributed to the type of innovation, stage of innovation, scope of innovation and   organization. Given the technology industry, the scope of   innovation is not easy to define at the startup stage of innovation. It has been identified by Rothwell and Dodgson, (1995) that there is a small difference between the development of   innovation in small companies and   large corporations. It has been estimated that the process of innovation development in small companies tend to be of a behavioural nature, whereas in large corporations – of a materialistic nature. Additionally, it has been added that the process of the development of innovation in the smaller companies tends to be dependent on the industry. It is assumed that, in the technology industry, the degree of innovation’s success is increased, due to the large pool of opportunities. However, as Hopkins, (2010) has pointed out, it does require a discipline. Freeman and Soete, (1997) agree that the innovative products and services depend on the scope of RD activities. This suggests that there is a greater chance for larger corporations to implement the innovation, due to the large available funds. However, as the recent res earch demonstrates, there are a lot of entrepreneurs, who have been successful in production of innovation with limited investments (e.g. Mark Zuckerberg; Steve Jobs). Littler, Leverick and Bruce, (2003) argue that the innovative product development is associated with high risk, which is dispensed across the production and Research and Development areas. As the result, it has been proposed in the same source that increased collaboration is required in order to achieve the objectives, in relation to the innovative solutions product. These scholars have also added that the main factors that affect the increase of the risk degree is attributed to the utilization of the new technology.   Practical Evidence This section focuses on the presentation of the practical evidence of the key theories that have been analysed in the literature review section. This section is based on the integration of the case study about Facebook and its founder, Mark Zuckerberg. Mark Zuckerberg, 28 is the founder of the world’s largest social networking website, Facebook. It was launched back in 2004, in the dorm room of Harvard University (CrunchBase, 2012). Prior to this, Mark Zuckerberg has tried to launch another two programs, namely a music recommendation program, Synapse and peer-to-peer client, Wirehog. However, he left them at the startup point (TechCrunch, 2012). Along with that, Mark Zuckerberg also launched Coursematch and Facemash programs during his studies at Harvard University. Facebook was originally developed for   students to interact, however it has been further extended to a global scale. As a result, Facebook has become a success internationally (New Yorker, 2010). Prior to the development of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg studied computer science, however, he has another degree in psychology. This suggests that he understands both the computer technology and human behaviour (New Yorker, 2012). With regard to the personal characteristics, Mark Zuckerberg has been described as quiet, unassuming gentleman, who focuses on hard work and achievement of the objectives. This shows that he doesn’t take anything for granted, thus focusing intensively on further development of Facebook operations. To date, Facebook has generated $1.26 billion, however, it has reported a recent loss, which is associated with the inability to develop the mobile advertising sector (CNCWorld, 2012; Information Week, 2012). The primary source of   income is attributed to the advertising since Facebook is free to subscribe. This implies that there is still   room for improvement in the mobile advertising area, whereas the main competitors already enjoy the generated prof its from this sector. The mobile advertising area has been overlooked by Mark Zuckerberg, given the recent rise in the access   to the Internet from mobile phones (New Media Trends, 2012). This implies that the modern consumers tend to utilize the mobile applications more, which is supported by the recent data that states that the number of mobile Internet users has doubled. Information Week, (2012) demonstrates that there have been 75 % of social networking users, who have accessed Facebook via their Android-supported mobile devices in U.S.A,   in March, 2012. Facebook management agrees that there is still a room for development however, the main problem is attributed to the inability to provide high resolution advertisements on small mobile screens (Information Week, 2012). This is assumed to be surprising, in the light of Mark Zuckerberg’s ability to develop the new social media platform, during the rise of the Internet. This implies that Mark Zuckerberg tends to seize the opportunities, once they arise. The main aim of Facebook, to   date, is regarded to be a willingness to make the globe a more open place, by   means of social interactions (New Yorker, 2010). However, contrary to this, Mark Zuckerberg, himself, is characterized as being private, thus not sharing a lot of information about himself. This is supported by the fact that he does not give a lot of interviews and/or make public appearances (CrunchBase, 2012). With regards to the work environment, that is managed in Facebook headquarters, it has been estimated in the recent research that the workers are driven to educate themselves while working. This is interconnected with the fact that Facebook was founded at the University so, Mark Zuckerberg is trying to transform the workplace into the educational institution in order to drive the creativity’s emergence. The design of the Facebook offices promotes openness as the key feature of Facebook program (Business Insider, 2009). This implies that   employees are not limited by the cubicles’ boundaries. Additionally, the working hours are flexible. This suggests that the employees may choose their own hours in order to deliver the best product solutions possible. Furthermore, Mark Zuckerberg tends to promote openess in interaction, suggesting that the employees are able to walk around the headquarters, thus interacting with others (Business Insider, 2009). The main aim of this i s to promote the development of the creative ideas, which would be applicable to the Facebook (Business Insider, 2009). Along with that, the main negative comments have only been attributed to the distant location of the Facebook headquarters. Additionally, some employees have stated that it is difficult to concentrate while working in the open areas. Therefore, the promoted openess does not work for everybody (Business Insider, 2009).   Analysis This section is based on the production of the links between the main theories and the key findings, derived from the practical evidence. It had been estimated that Facebook was developed, during the period, when internet, as a communication channel was starting to gain the popularity amongst the public (New Media Trends, 2012). This shows that Mark Zuckerberg had been following the evolutionary theory related to the innovative development and given his specialized knowledge and learning abilities, he scanned the environment for opportunities and dynamic changes (Anderson, 1999). In 2004, there was a limited amount of social networking platforms, presented on the market that would allow enjoyable social interaction. As a result, he developed   Facebook in order to meet the educational needs, with the limited resources available. It was based purely on the knowledge and skills he had obtained. One of the main benefits was that he could combine his technology-related knowledge with the education degree he received in psychology (Time, 2012). This has allowed the development of the social networking platform that would suit the needs of   consumers. Furthermore, the theoretical frameworks suggest that there is supposed to be a creative and relaxing environment in order to produce the innovative idea. At that time, Mark Zuckerberg has been studying in the university, which suggests that he was associated with the young and educated people with a lot of aspirations (New Yorker, 2010). Normally, in this environment, the most innovative ideas are born, so, this supports the theoretical evidence. Evolutionary theory is also supported by the fact that Mark Zuckerberg also tried to integrate other social media products but he failed to succeed with some of them. This demonstrates a certain degree of learning, integrated in the process of the innovation development. This implies that after the failure of his previous innovations , he has advanced the process of innovative solutions production, based on the mistakes he had made (CrunchBase, 2012). Additionally, the process of innovation production has been supported by the acquired and/or natural behavioural traits of the entrepreneur. This suggests that Mark Zuckerberg has always been a hard worker whilst eliminating the need â€Å"to take everything for granted† (Time, 2012). Therefore, he has always been focused on the achievement of his objectives. The elements of the accidental innovation may be followed once Facebook had become popular outside the university. This shows that, despite the primary educational objectives related to the Facebook platform, Mark Zuckerberg accidentally met the needs of a wider international audience (Austin, Devin and Sullivan, 2012). This was the starting point   of Facebook’s success. At the moment, being a large corporation,   Facebook constantly updates the website with new applications, as a result of the evaluation of the consumer needs and environment. However, some subscribers tend to be confused with the constant changes that Facebook integrates (Guardian, 2010). In this case, the aspects of experimentation are demonstrated. These can be traced inthe theory of â€Å"trial and error†, which suggests the evaluation of the most profitable products and services based on experimentation (Brown and Eisenhardt, 1998). This is proved to be effective, however it also drives a larg e degree of confusion amongst the subscribers. Another critical aspect is attributed to the problem with the mobile advertising, which has resulted in the decrease of the revenues of Facebook, recently (Business Insider, 2012). This suggests that management of the company failed to scan the environment in order to integrate the necessary solutions with regards to the emergence of the new trend. As the result, this has negatively resulted in the poor company’s performance (Business Insider, 2012). This is said to be especially surprising, given the ability of Mark Zuckerberg to seize the opportunities and the scope of the modern Facebook corporation. This is supported by the literature review findings, which suggest that it is much easier for larger corporations to integrate innovative solutions due to the large funding available for Research and Development activities (Freeman and Soete, 1997). In this case, at the moment, Facebook failed to do that. Recent data demonstrates that another reason behind this, is attributed to the lack of clear strategic vision. This implies that Mark Zuckerberg aims at the delivery of accidental innovations rather than the result of a clear strategic vision (Business Insider, 2009). He expects the innovation to appear as a result of the management of the creative environment. It has been estimated in the literature review that it is necessary to promote the discipline during the process of innovation development (Hopkins, 2010). However, with regards to Facebook’s work conditions, it is not necessarily applicable. This implies that the company aims to integrate open interactions and flexible working hours. This is said to be appealing for the majority of employees. However there are some employees, who   state that it is hard to concentrate while working in this sort of environment. As a result, Facebook aims to promote the casual and relaxing environment, which would allow development of creative solutions. Conclusion This paper was aimed at discussing research on innovation within the entrepreneurship context. It focused on the exploration of the Facebook case and its founder, Mark Zuckerberg. The main theories have indicated that there are several patterns of innovation development, namely accidental innovation production, evolutionary, experimental and complexity theories. The Literature review has also demonstrated that environment also plays a large role in the process of innovation development. Other scholars suggest that the success of innovation depends on the entrepreneur’s personal characteristic and actual characteristics attributed to the innovation. The main findings, based on the analysis of one of the greatest entrepreneurs, have demonstrated that the innovation’s production process incorporates   elements of accidental process and both experimental and evolutionary processes. Additionally, it has been estimated that the dynamics of the environment and personal chara cteristics of the entrepreneur tend to play a large role in relation to the worldwide success of the innovation. However, it is essential to further update the innovations in order to stay on the market. This, in turn, may also incorporate the elements of the experimentation. However, one of the main factors is related to the ability to seize the opportunities. References: Anderson, P. (1999). Complexity theory and organization science. Anorexia Nervosa Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

Anorexia Nervosa - Research Paper Example â€Å"The word ‘anorexia’ literally means ‘loss of appetite’† (Watson, 2007, p. 9). With Anorexia Nervosa, the individual usually suffers an extreme amount of distress about becoming overweight, thus reducing their food intake dramatically. This refusal to maintain a healthy body is often mixed with low self-esteem, which in an ordinarily healthy person can be dealt with by power of reasoning, which modifies the way the affected person assesses and thinks about their eating habits and their bodies. Sufferers of Anorexia Nervosa often feel hungry, but avoid eating enough food to sustain themselves properly. On an average, an anorexic individual has about 600 to 800 calories per day, in some cases people also starve themselves. Anorexia nervosa is a severe mental sickness that has a high frequency of comorbidity. It also has the highest mortality rate when compared to any other psychological disorders. People usually tend to develop anorexic symptoms in their early teens. Anorexia is more commonly seen in adolescent girls than boys. However, this does not restrict the fact that women and men of any race, age, cultural and socioeconomic background can be affected by anorexia. Anorexia nervosa occurs in 10 times more females than males. â€Å"Females are more likely than males to have anorexia. In fact, about 90 per cent of people with anorexia are females. Studies estimate that one out every 200 women has anorexia. However, males can also have anorexia. Currently, around 10 per cent of people with anorexia are males† (Graves, 2000, p.14). â€Å"Anorexia nervosa is a mental disorder that results in an avoidance of eating because of a cluster of specific emotional issues. Symptoms of anorexia nervosa may begin to manifest as early as 9 years of age† (Barry & Farmer, 2002, p. 324). Anorexic symptoms or sign can include steady changes in the appearance and behavior of a person, which occurs over a period of years or even months. Change in dieting behaviors, which include counting of calories and fasting, narrowing down the choices of food or changing food inclinations, like the refusal to eat bad or fatty food, declaring to dislike food that was earlier relished, not eating certain food groups like dairy or meat, and rapid, obvious, and dramatic weight loss. Strict and extreme workout patterns, that are carried out even in bad weather or when the individual is injured or ill. â€Å"Most anorexics consider exercise to be their best friend because it is a valuable asset in their pursuit of thinness. For someone who consumes too few calories, though, exercise keeps the body in a continual state of deprivation and actually serves as a method of purging† (Hall & Ostroff, 1999, p. 39). The treatment for anorexia is focused on checking mortality and illness by reestablishing body weight and fixing psychological and dysfunctional thinking and behavior, and treating obsessive thinking and depression, and final avoiding relapse, with the support of a family member or the sufferer’s partner. This treatment involves four main components, bringing and maintaining the person to a weight that is healthy, providing treatment for the various psychological problems related to anorexia, and removing or at least reducing the thoughts and behaviors that end up in disordered eating habits, and avoiding reversion

Lyme Bay and Tort Law Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words

Lyme Bay and Tort Law - Essay Example The case of teenager deaths of canoeing in the Lyme Bay in March 1993 should be considered in the context of tort law. There are different aspects of the case, which should not have occurred at all. The canoeing activity should have been reconsidered under stricter regulations. St. Alban's Centre lacked of a proper supervision of canoeing activity. Therefore, the individual from the company was accused of four teenagers’ deaths. The involvement and mutual cooperation of parental, educational, health and social organizations resulted in legal regulations changes in the field of outdoors businesses. On March 22nd 1993 the canoeing party was organized by teachers and pupils and they were under supervision of two instructors from the St Alban's Centre. They were intended to reach Lyme Regis by lunchtime. The raft was far away from teachers and students and they were protected by life jackets. Only at 18:40 the rest of party members were rescued by helicopter . Consequently, this c ase is an appeal for the publicity to better regulate safety of outdoor activities for pupils. The coastguard was accused of oversight of their rescue activities and there was a need to better develop rescue operations on the coast. The main emphasis is made on outdoor education, which has been provided by the charitable organizations and authorities. Tort law implications In terms of tort law there are different prospects on this study. On the one hand, participants of Lyme Bay accident were under protected. On the other hand, their deeds and actions were neglected by the employees, who were not informed on time. Thus, in order to give an unprejudiced evaluation of the situation, it is relevant to focus on safety standards of recreation regulations of 90s. The Most Competitive Economy in the Arab World Essay Example for Free

The Most Competitive Economy in the Arab World Essay In the online article entitled â€Å"World Economic Forum says UAE is Arab World’s Most Competitive Economy,† it was stated that the World Economic Forum has declared the United Arab Emirates to have the most competitive economy among the Arab countries (The Associated Press). This was from a survey done among the 13 Arab States, the results of which were presented to the Forum at a two-day meeting attended by the Arab business leaders held in Qatar (The Associated Press). The reason for the economy of the United Arab Emirates to be considered the most competitive is its â€Å"highly developed infrastructure, particularly air and seaports,† according to the economist co-author of the survey in the person of Margareta Drzeniek Hanouz (The Associated Press). In addition to this, the efficiency of the government of UAE in spending and regulation and the efficiency in the labor market had also become the important contributory factor to its success (The Associated Press). There is also a progress to be noted from the economies of other Arab countries because of its utilization of energy sources available to it (The Associated Press). Paired with this, there is government infrastructure support and enhancement that jives with the goals of the economy (The Associated Press). For once, it is very important that a country’s economy rises. It will impact on the people if planned well and will help alleviate the status of the nation. It is also important that there will be participation from the private sector towards the goals of the government and vice-versa. The government, private, and civil society partnership is indeed a key factor to the success of any aspect of nations. However, it is also important that, together with the rise and progress of the economy, the social welfare aspects of a nation are also enhanced and their needs addressed. The social welfare of the people is important because they are the ones who make up the nation and contributes to the economy, as well. Works Cited The Associated Press. Feminism before the 20th Century Essay -- History Female Gender Papers

Feminism before the 20th Century For generations, women had been subjected to men. Women had no saying in what was going on around them, to what they wanted their lives to be, or even when it came to their bodies. Many women have raised their voices to protest against this subjugation, sometimes at great personal risk. Such is the French case of Marie Gouze(1748-93), who under the name Olympe de Gouges, wrote "Declaration of the Rights of Women and Citizen." In this document Marie advocated for civic equality, as well as equal participation in political rights, women's right to vote, and equal education. She presented this document to Marie Antoinette in 1789. Unfortunately, the proposal was rejected and Marie was condemned to the guillotine by the radical Jacobin in the assembly, however the ideals have survived through the years. In the 19th century, due to the industrial revolution, a new middle class with wealth from land, trading, and factories, was created. The women of this class took Marie's ideals and created has come to be known as the feminist movement. These women were educated, and it was obvious to them the rights they were missing, because they saw how the men of their class had acquired these rights with the new found wealth. The goals of the Women's Movement in the 19th century were to get the vote, to archive equality in property rights, access to education, access to jobs and fair pay, divorce, and children's custody. In spite of a few changes women still where a long way from archiving equality at the end of the 19th century, so the women of the 20th century following in the foot step of their feminist ancestors continued the fight for the total realization of all of these goals. Women fight ... ...transformations can be seen as extensions of the goals set in the 19th century. Childcare can be seen as an extension, of the desire of women to work, since to be able to work someone had to take care of the children. Abortion, and the use of birth control, can be seen as an extension of the desire of women to run their own lives from choosing whom to marry, to choosing whom to vote for. So in one way or another, the transformations that feminism invoked in the 20th century are part of the next logical step after the transformation achieved in the 19th century because at the end, the supreme goal of feminism has always been total equality, or should we say liberation, in all areas, political, sexual, economical, and social.
